| | Welcome to Barry's Bay, the Polish Capital of Canada,
situated in the heart of the Madawaska Valley on the historic Opeongo Line. The Opeongo
Line is home to the "Prussian Settlement" which was settled in 1859
by Polish settlers, this settlement had grown to 44 Polish families numbering
some 182 persons by 1863. It is the actual site of Canada's First Polish Settlement.
